Raziskovalno deluje predvsem na področju modeliranja, simulacije in optimizacije procesov, ki potekajo pri reciklaži odpadnega jekla v elektroobločnih pečeh (EOP). Spremljanje samega procesa reciklaže je omejeno zaradi pomanjkanja sprotnih meritev in velikega števila procesov (električni, toplotni, kemijski, masni), ki potekajo paralelno. Zaradi tega sta potek reciklaže in vodenje EOP neoptimalna. Z razvojem matematičnih modelov oz. digitalnih dvojčkov procesov v EOP se tako odpirajo možnosti za boljši vpogled v proces, kot tudi za izboljšanje učinkovitosti samega procesa.
